sounds like these nine days had push your thoughts back to the ordinary, the everyday but with another perspective perhaps, being among a different group of people than your usual surroundings can change a person's perspective, I wonder if I would have been so calm during these quiet days, my mind would go wild chasing after unwanted thoughts

Thanks for finding a way to suggest the mode of retreat -- conscious attending to a life that has been going on within and around us without our always noticing its energy and power.
