going and waiting

"But if we hope
for what we do not see,
we eagerly wait for it

with perseverance."

A timely topic, as I am sitting here in a cafe trying to enjoy the moment, and finding that years of training to be onto the next thing makes that an exercise in concentration. If you can pull it off, you find out there is a whole other world of emotional tranquility and external detail to take in.

Wonderfully meditative thoughts, as usual. I too, even during off days with plenty of time to write, find the temptation overpowering to cram as much leisure has possible into a given span of time, rather than truly recreate. It seems our frenetic pace of life cannot leave us alone; we must actively pursue passivity -- an oxymoron. Thanks again for your thoughtful writing.

I know it can be tough, waiting is never fun. But God is always watching and leading the way.

I have been out of work for a while and finally things are starting to come together for me. God always has a way of pulling through when you really need him. I start work sunday. Unfortunately I am going to miss mass but I have been waiting and waiting to find a job. Thanks Spec, Keep up the good work.

A very convicting message, and I would feel a ton of Catholic guilt if I did not find time to at least leave a comment, letting you know I enjoyed your latest blog entry.
